DECA at national conferecne

Bridgewater-Raritan High School students who are members of DECA were recognized with elite awards while enjoying a visit to Florida.

According to Shilpa Wakde, the Bridgewater-Raritan High School DECA Advisor, reported on “the outstanding accomplishments of our DECA students at the 2025 International Career Development Conference (ICDC), held from April 26–29 in Orlando, Florida.

Ms. Wakde explained that this prestigious event brought together over 20,000 emerging leaders from around the globe to compete, learn, and connect in the fields of marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.

Here are the three Bridgewater-Raritan High School DECA students who were recognized for their efforts.

Ohmal Suresh (Junior): Achieved a remarkable distinction by placing in the Top 20 internationally in the Principles of Marketing cluster, showcasing exceptional understanding and application of marketing principles.

Mohnish Gumedelli (Freshman): Demonstrated academic excellence by earning one of the highest scores in the multiple-choice exam for the Principles of Hospitality and Tourism category, reflecting a deep comprehension of the hospitality industry.

Darsh Gaur (Freshman): Exhibited commendable performance and professionalism throughout the conference, representing our school with pride and dedication.

Ms. Wakde spoke about the entire trip, which featured plenty of enjoyable tours.

“Beyond the competitive events, our students had the opportunity to unwind and celebrate their hard work during DECA Night at Universal Studios on April 28. This exclusive event allowed DECA members to enjoy private access to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, creating unforgettable memories and fostering camaraderie among peers,” she said.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ohmal, Mohnish, Darsh, and all our DECA participants for their dedication and achievements. Their success at ICDC not only reflects their individual talents but also the strength of our Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s commitment to developing future leaders in business and entrepreneurship.”
