Math can be fun.
So claimed the Bridgewater Raritan Education Association (BREA).
The Union, which represents an estimated 1,2000 staff members in the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District, presented the BREA Family Math Game Night on Wednesday evening, April 9.
The event, which was sponsored by the BREA and the New Jersey Education Association, was held in the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School. The activities ran from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The event attracted families of Kindergarten through Grade 6 students in the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District.
Laura Kress, the President of the BREA, reported that the evening was educational and enjoyable.
“The night was about family, fun, and math. Over 60 families came to the middle school and were served dinner and dessert,” Ms. Kress said. “After dinner the students and their families were divided into classrooms where district teachers facilitated a variety of math games with students and their families.”
She shared more about the event.
“The games were purchased specifically for the evening event and were then donated back to the schools. There were giveaways to the students as well,’ Ms. Kress explained.
Ms. Kress concluded.
“Everyone in attendance seemed to have enjoyed the evening with their families and teachers.”
