All current students in Grades 1 through 4 will take the MAP tests in mathematics and reading during the week of September 22nd (specifically, 9/24, 9/25, and 9/26). MAP (the Measure of Academic Progress assessment system) is a computerized adaptive assessment that “tests each child differently by responding to how a student answers questions and adjusting the level of difficulty accordingly until a ‘ready to learn’ zone is determined.” Teachers will use the information from the MAP tests to plan instruction at the appropriate levels for students in their class. The MAP assessments also serve as a universal screener for students who may be in need of additional instruction through the district’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). All students will take these MAP tests again in the spring, which will provide growth data to teachers for individuals and groups of students in their classes. The tests will be administered during the school day. Any questions regarding the administration of MAP testing can be addressed by our school’s Elementary Teaching Specialist. The Jewish Community Center’s first Kids Night Out of the school year will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the building that is located at 775 Talamini Road in Bridgewater.
According to the officials at the Jewish Community Center, students are urged to “ bring their camp and school friends together for an unforgettable evening packed with swimming, sports, pizza dinner and dessert, and non-stop fun! “
The officials went on to explain this entertaining evening that is open for students aged 5 to 11.
“Our supervised program will have everyone splashing in the pool, shooting hoops and playing games in the gym, and filling up on delicious pizza and sweet treats. Whether you're diving into the pool or diving into dessert, this is the perfect way to reconnect after the summer and celebrate a fantastic school year ahead!”
